I visited Haneda Airport Terminal 3 with my children. In this post, I’ll introduce the best spots to enjoy when visiting with kids!
Exploring Haneda Airport Terminal 3 with Kids
Today, I’m introducing Haneda Airport Terminal 3 (formerly the International Terminal). My first visit was to see off my husband for his overseas business trip, and since then, I’ve visited several times.
With the recent opening of “Haneda Airport Garden” and new luxury hotels, the area around Terminal 3 has become even more vibrant and exciting! It’s a fantastic place for families with plenty of sightseeing spots. Let’s dive in!
How to Get to Haneda Airport Terminal 3
Haneda Airport has three terminals: Terminal 1, Terminal 2, and Terminal 3.
Whether you take the Tokyo Monorail or the Keikyu Line from central Tokyo, Terminal 3 is the first airport stop. Be careful not to miss it, as Terminal 1 and 2 come afterward! It’s very convenient, taking only about 15 minutes from the city center.
Floor Guide: What’s Inside Terminal 3?
1F: Entrance Plaza
This is the ground level where bus and taxi stands are located. There aren’t many sightseeing spots on this floor.
2F: Arrival Lobby
The greeting area for arriving passengers. It connects to the Keikyu and Monorail stations and features a walkway to Haneda Airport Garden. Tip: Follow the walkway to Haneda Airport Garden for numerous restaurants, shops, and even a natural hot spring (Onsen)!
3F: Departure Lobby

This floor is always buzzing with travelers. From here, you can take escalators or elevators to the 4th and 5th floors, where most of the attractions are located.
4F: Restaurants & Shops (Edo Ko-ji)
This floor is designed to look like an old Japanese town from the Edo period.
Edo Ko-ji

It’s hard to believe you’re inside an airport! It’s perfect for finding traditional Japanese souvenirs.

Saryo Ito-en: A traditional Japanese teahouse. Their matcha sweets look amazing—definitely on my bucket list!
Haneda Nihonbashi

A stunning half-size replica of the famous Nihonbashi bridge made of Japanese cypress (Hinoki). It’s a great photo spot and symbolizes the start of a journey.
TIAT SKY ROAD

A gallery featuring model planes from various airlines flying into Haneda. A must-see for young aviation fans!
5F: Entertainment & Observation Deck
The top floor is where the real fun for kids begins!
Hakuhinkan TOY PARK & Slot Car Circuit

There is a large racing circuit where kids can drive slot cars (for a fee).

The controls are simple—just start, brake, and speed adjustment. The staff was so friendly and funny, making the kids laugh by racing tissue boxes against the cars!

Character Shops
You’ll find shops filled with Japanese pop culture icons, perfect for kids and souvenir hunters.
Observation Deck (24 hours)

This spacious deck is open 24/7. Part of it is covered, so you can watch planes even in the rain. The roar of the engines and the dynamic take-offs are incredible. I could stay here for hours!

When we were seeing off my husband, we knew his departure time but couldn’t tell which ANA plane was his. As I was getting anxious, my daughter Mako made a very “Mako-style” suggestion: “Why don’t we just say ‘Bye-bye’ to every ANA plane that takes off for the next few minutes?”
So, for the next 10 minutes, we waved and shouted “Bye-bye!” to every single ANA flight. To anyone nearby, we must have looked like the biggest ANA fans in the world!
Haneda Airport Terminal 3 is not just for travelers—it’s a great destination for a family day out!
If you have extra time, you can take the free shuttle bus to visit Terminals 1 and 2 for even more fun. Give it a try!
