Are you looking for a hotel near Haneda Airport? Wondering what Villa Fontaine Grand Haneda Airport is like or if you can really enjoy natural hot springs there?

As a former travel agent currently living in Malaysia, I’ll share my firsthand experience staying at this trendy airport hotel!

Why I Choose Villa Fontaine Grand Haneda Airport

Since I live in Malaysia, my flights back to Japan often arrive at Haneda late at night. That’s why I frequently stay at Villa Fontaine Grand Haneda Airport, which opened in late 2022.

It’s located inside “Haneda Airport Garden,” meaning shops and restaurants are just steps away. Plus, it features a natural hot spring! For my family, craving authentic Japanese food and a relaxing soak after a long flight, this hotel is a dream come true.

What is Villa Fontaine Grand Haneda Airport?

Opened in December 2022, this hotel is directly connected to Haneda Airport Terminal 3. It’s part of the massive “Haneda Airport Garden” complex.

Grand vs. Premier: What’s the difference?

There are two hotels in the same building:

  • Premier (160 rooms): Focused on luxury and comfort. Higher price point.
  • Grand (1,557 rooms): Focused on convenience. It’s closer to the shops and offers diverse room types.

Our family prefers the Grand because it’s so convenient. It’s even certified as a “Welcome Baby Hotel,” making it perfect for those traveling with small children.

Exploring Haneda Airport Garden

The hotel is integrated with Haneda Airport Garden, accessible via a direct walkway from the 2F Arrival Lobby of Terminal 3.

Dining: Plenty of amazing restaurants like Hanayama Udon and Kamukura Ramen.

Shopping: Lots of Japanese-style shops perfect for souvenirs. We even watched a live candy-making performance at Papabubble!

Izumi Tenku no Yu (Hot Spring): This is the highlight! While the standard entry is 4,800 JPY, hotel guests can enter for a discounted price of 2,000 JPY.

How to Get There

It’s only a 5-minute walk from Terminal 3. Look for the brightly lit “Haneda Airport Garden” gate at the 2F Arrival Lobby.

Follow the walkway, pass the Lawson convenience store, and you’re at the entrance.

My Stay Experience & Review

Check-in & Lobby

The lobby is stunning—modern with cool Japanese touches like Samurai armor.

Check-in is done via automated machines, though it can be a bit tricky (the staff is always there to help if you get an error!).

You can also pick up extra amenities and coffee in the lobby.

The Room

We stayed in a Japanese-Western Room (29㎡), which fits 4 people with 2 beds and 2 futons. Beautiful tatami flooring—very Japanese!

To be honest, it’s a bit snug compared to hotels in Malaysia. Once you open large suitcases, space gets limited. But for an airport hotel, it’s manageable.

They provided kid-sized pajamas upon request.

The room also had a humidifying air purifier and bottled water.

High-Tech Features (This is impressive!)

Smart TV: You can check the real-time congestion of the hot springs and the status of the laundry machines (including how many minutes are left) right from your TV!

Charging: The desk has built-in cables for all types of devices—no need to dig through your bags for a charger.

The Onsen (Natural Hot Spring)

I visited the hot spring the next morning. The water temperature was pleasant, and the facilities were sparkling clean. I was shocked to find Mirable zero high-end showerheads in the bath area! There’s also a relaxation lounge where you can watch planes while you rest.

Summary: Is it worth it?

Pros:

  • Unbeatable location (direct terminal access).
  • Amazing dining and shopping options.
  • Discounted access to a world-class hot spring.
  • Incredibly clean and high-tech.

Cons:

  • Rooms can feel a bit small for large families.

If you are arriving late or departing early from Haneda, I highly recommend staying here to start or end your Japan trip with total comfort.
